Music Tech Notes - Getting Started

Overview

You will need to start to organize a system of taking notes for this class. This will be an ongoing work in progress for the duration of the class as you constantly add to the notes. Throughout the course you will be asked to share excerpts of your notes to participate in discussions. Take the time now to plan a note-taking process and get organized so you will be ready to share when asked!

Take Good Notes

  1. Read: Importance of Taking Good Notes by Iasos
  2. Document what you study, research, practice and experiment in this class
  3. Format and organize your notes in some kind of cloud server
    • Example: GoogleDocs, DropBox, Evernote, Notion Etc
    • The Craft Docs Application is AMAZING and FREE to students!
  4. If your original notes are taken by hand either:
    1. Transcribe into electronic format
      • Your notes will be much more useful in electronic format
    2. Or take photos
  5. Keep your notes up-to-date as the course progresses
    • Take notes every day. Document what you learn and discover
