Bio
John Lee Sanders is a respected composer, performer, producer, vocalist, and instrumentalist on piano, saxophone and guitar, in the world of blues, jazz, Gospel and roots music. He has a 2007 Emmy nomination, a 2004 nomination for Blues song of the year. He's currently nominated for a 2011 Canadian Maple Blues award for piano/ keyboard player of the year.
John won 3 Canadian music awards in 2009 as a performer and recording artist. He's shared the stage some of the icons of the music industry, such as Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Herb Alpert, Dionne Warwick, Willie Nelson, Chuck Berry, Starship, and Jimmy Page. As a solo performer, he's performed on major blues and jazz festivals worldwide. His arrangements have been performed by groups as diverse as the Santa Cruz Symphony, The National Jazz Orchestra of Croatia, The Vancouver 80 voice Good Noise Gospel Choir, to the Tower of Power Horns. His songs have been recorded by Eddie Kendricks of the Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Marcia Ball, and many others.
John Lee's recent CD, Doc Goes Hollywood, with the William Ross Orchestra, nominated for a 2008 Western Canada Music Award, Orchestrated and produced by William Ross, Music director of the 2011 and 2007 Academy Awards.
