Regardless of your chosen DAW, there are a few basic navigational skills that we all have to learn before we can record or edit audio.
- Play/Stop from different Starting places in the DAW Timeline
- Beginning, Middle, End, etc
- Toggle between the Edit and Mix Window
- Change Track Heights
- Zoom In/Out on waveform
- Zoom to show entire session (ALL the Clips in the Edit Window)
- Use a key command to do the following:
- Tab Cursor to next Clip Boundary
- Tab Cursor to previous Clip Boundary
- Tab Cursor to next Audio Transient
- Tab Cursor to previous Audio Transient
- Note: Some DAWs cannot move the cursor with Tab key
