- Determine if the song was recorded to a Click Track
- Setup Click Track and check sync to music
- MIDI or Audio Clips on Tick Based Tracks
- If song was not recorded to a click track
- Create a Tempo Map of the song
Beat Detective vs. Elastic Audio
- Elastic Audio Pros: can be easier and faster than Beat Detective
- Elastic Audio Cons: The time stretching can create artifacts that degrade the sound
- Beat Detective Pros: No artifacts from time stretch.
- Sound quality is not degraded
- Beat Detective Cons: More difficult to use.
- Sometimes creates edits with pops and clicks that can be difficult to smooth out
