Hello Bruce,
Thank you for contacting Spanning Support!
Spanning does not support Cross Org restore between two different Google Workspace domains instead we can perform cross-user restore between two users within the same org. Definitely, you can restore and export the backed-up data (Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Gmail Archives) using Spanning backup. You can export all the emails to your local computer and import it into an email client Thunderbird to access all the email locally without login into Spanning.
Spanning uses Single sign-in via Google's own O-Auth, to access your data. Spanning directly does not have access to your data, this is primarily done to ensure data privacy. Also, using OAuth is a Google security requirement and we must use this method so we need Google Services to be up and running to authenticate to Spanning, there isn't a way to access the backups offline through Spanning.
